A 20-minute morning yoga flow
Twenty minutes is enough to move the spine in every direction, wake up the legs and start the day steadier. This flow is gentle enough for beginners and works straight out of bed.
Who it's for: beginners and anyone short on time. Props: none needed; a blanket helps for sitting. Feel: awake, not tired.

Questions
Is 20 minutes of yoga in the morning enough?
Yes. Twenty minutes is enough to mobilise the spine, stretch the hips and hamstrings and do a few standing poses. A short daily practice tends to do more than one long practice a week, because it's easier to keep.
Should you do yoga before or after breakfast?
Most people prefer practicing on an empty stomach or after something light like fruit or tea. A big meal right before practice makes forward folds and twists uncomfortable.
What is a good yoga flow for beginners in the morning?
Start seated with a few slow breaths, warm the spine with cat and cow, do two or three half sun salutations, add one or two standing poses and a balance, and finish with a short rest. Keep holds to about five breaths.
